I was looking in Xenon Skin Settings at background artwork but I couldn't find a way to change the Theme.

Mine still has the Halloween Witch background.

Will the build update itself like in the past or do I need to DL Christmas pics for the background?

Open skin settings. Under general, enable holiday theme (2nd on list). Then open background artwork and customize as you like
