Android box

Not a build specific question so please delete if not permitted? Have been enjoying all of the Diggz builds and currently using AIO on an Android streaming box. Have been reading good reviews of the ONN box but all from users in the USA. I am told that the UK equivalent is a Thomson Streaming Box 270UK Plus. I am asking if anyone else in the UK is using one of these - is it straight forward to set up and install apps and builds? or does it need to be jailbroken in some way? Thanks for your comments.
