the error pops up as soon as chef omega wizard installs. i can open it but when i click on builds nothing happens except the error message pops again.

What internet service do you have? Could be a file protection setting on your ISP router also.

ok so i went back into defender and changed the rule to allow incoming and outgoing connections to kodi as well as disabled all vpn options. restarted kodi, installed chef omega and the same thing happened.

Idk if its a file protection issue as im using a hotel network. but if i remember correctly i had this issue when i was trying to use chef nexus on my home network

what were you saying about unzipping the xenon build directly into the kodi folder? which folder and ill try that. after i do that though what do i do in kodi

Just a thought, do you have a wifi hotspot on your phone? Connect your box to that real quick and the issue will probably go away. After the build downloads, Turn on the hotel wifi again.

i dont know what it is, i tried my phone hotspot and same thing. It just keeps getting hung up at the install. Its odd because other wizards will do the whole download box where it shows the actual progress but this one just says chef omega installed as a banner then immediately after it says error.

Copy and paste this into the windows search bar at the bottom left and hit enter. %APPDATA%\Kodi\

This will open the Kodi folder location, delete all folders in there (Addons, Userdata, etc) Then unzip the build file there. Open Kodi.

all that did was put me right back where i was at. at the chef omega install menu. cant install builds.

so the kodi folder itself will not let me change it from read-only. im thinking that has to be the problem. but ive added the permissions for every user title and it still wont change from read only
